The Baramundos Collaborative Group was created in 1985, by
Ricardo Spinace', Mauro Iacobelli, Harry Punno and Richard Lemieux.
The group concentrated on creating strong, colourful installations of
fictional worlds through the use of painting, found material sculpture,
sound and lighting.
Their conceptual process included the development of ideas,
through discussions leading to drawings, sculptural maquettes and improvisational jams.
Their first major solo show at Gallery 76 in Toronto,
was called the best show of the year, by Toronto Star critic Christopher Hume.
Here are a few examples of the installation at Gallery 76 in Toronto Canada 1986.
Baramundos locked the doors of the gallery and four days later,
opened them again, after having painted the entire space
and placed
within the rooms, sculptures that had been created for the installation, from found materials.
The concept was based on using a primary colour for each room, and
each colour suggested the room's theme:
Blue: The Ocean,Red: The Jungle and Yellow: The Desert.

In 1987, Baramundos worked together again,at the Fela Grünwald Gallery; this time using their
own lives's urban setting as their subject.
Their interpretations of the city around them still carried a colourful
palette, but this time, along with the happy coexistence
of it's world's
denizens, the work embodied a more
critical depiction of the urban conditions.
